5 Snacks to Always Have in Your Bag

Are you always busy and on the go? Do you sometimes have to grab something unhealthy to eat on your way that is not ideal? The key to not eating wasted calories is to always have automated snacks. Carry them in your purse, backpack, or in your car, so you always have something when you get delayed, sidetracked or caught in traffic.

Here are my favorites:

  1. Fruit

A great source of nutrients that are under consumed. That is why it's best to mix it up and always have something different. Fruit is naturally low in calories, fat and sodium and is a great way to start the day and get your fiber in.

  2. Nuts

An abundance of heart healthy fats, vitamins, protein and minerals. Always get raw and only have about 6-8 for a snack. I love soaking almonds in water and eating them for a quick break between clients.

  3. Hard Boiled Eggs

An excellent low calorie way to add protein into your day. They are also a great source of selenium and riboflavin.

  4. Cheese Sticks

Another way to get protein, vitamin A and calcium into your diet. They are very filling and are portioned out so they are easy to help curb over indulging.

  5. Fiber Bar

The name alone gives it away. It is a great source of fiber and an excellent way to start your morning.
