Fun Exercises You Can Do With Your Family
One of the greatest gifts we can give to our children is being healthy role models, both by what we eat and how we exercise. Our kids look to us for guidance and they will adopt many of our habits, both the good as well as the bad. We should use this fact as a powerful motivator, setting the best example possible when it comes to eating a healthy diet and engaging in regular exercise. The healthier we are, the healthier our children will be as well.
One incredibly powerful way to expose our children to exercise is to do it with them. What better way to spend quality time with your kids than to engage in a fun workout together? So get your children away from all the technological distractions, maybe even go outside if it's nice out, and show them how exercise can be fun while making them feel energized and empowered.
Here are four exercises that require no equipment that you can make into a fun, family workout:
The four simple and fun exercises you can do with your family that are shown in this video are:
- Running in place
- Jumps
- Squats
- Boxing
These four exercises can be done in various ways. One easy way would be to go back-and-forth doing 30 seconds of each exercise, parents go first to demonstrate, then kids. For example, parents run in place for 30 seconds, then the kids run in place for 30 seconds, then parents jump for 30 seconds, kids jump for 30 seconds, and continue through the rest in the same manner. Repeat the exercises 2-3 times depending on the time you have.
