In the Kitchen: Meal Prep 101

In my house, meal prepping is essential. It cuts down on the amount of time that I'm spending in the kitchen and keeps our kitchen stocked with healthy and easy to grab choices when we need quick snacks. It's also a great way to get your kids involved with preparing the food they will eat for the week, which gets them used to making healthy food choices and forms healthy nutritional habits.

Here are the things I find essential to succeeding with meal prepping:

The key points to meal prepping that I go over in the video are:

  1. Have a lot of containers
  2. Pick a day every week to prep meals
  3. Find a meal plan that works for you

Those are the basics that will give you the right foundation to build on in constructing a meal prepping routine that fits your family. Meal prepping may seem like a huge task to take on every week, but as you can see, it really boils down to very simple concepts that will just take some practice and fine tuning. So keep at it and you'll be meal prepping for your family in no time!
