The Four-Minute Cardio Workout for Your Heart
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, of the top 10 fitness trends to look out for in 2016, body-weight training ranked #2 on the list. It's no surprise, bodyweight training requires no equipment, which means no expense. You can do it wherever and whenever you want, and best of all, they are really effective.
Bodyweight exercises are not merely limited to strength moves like push-ups and squats either. You can also burn major calories by performing a wide variety of bodyweight-only cardio moves as well. Here is a fun, yet challenging, four-minute cardio workout for your heart - Just in time for February, which is the American Heart Month!
In this cardio workout, you will be repeating the following four exercises twice. Do each exercise for 20 seconds with 10 seconds of jogging in place between each exercise:
- Fake Jump Rope
- Cross Jacks
- Skaters
- Burpees
Since this is a quick workout, you want to do the highest level of intensity that you feel you can perform each exercise at to maximize your results. Be sure to be safe though and don't push yourself to unsafe levels of intensity.
