The Top 7 Nutritional Tips
You've probably heard it before: Losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise.
Well, I've never seen any studies that support that claim, but simple math tells us it's probably pretty accurate. The line I came up with many years ago is that it's much easier to keep 500 calories out of your mouth than it is to burn it off.
500 calories. That can be taken in by eating just a few large cookies, or burned off by sweating for a full hour on the elliptical. So making healthy food choices is a powerful way to control our weight. Passing up the cookies can be the equivalent of a hard one hour sweat fest on the treadmill.
So what are the top nutrition tips for achieving and maintaining a healthy weight? Fad diets will tell you otherwise, but the answers are actually rather simple. It's the application of them on a daily basis that many people find challenging.
